so many ER's, so little time!

I'm really hoping I have maxed out my emergency room visits for the year...

The first was last Saturday (5/21/11). HORRIBLE night, Landon woke up at 10pm screaming and would have no part of sleeping for the rest of the night. He was totally inconsolable. All he did all night was go back and forth between screaming and whining, broke my heart. BUT on top of that I broke out in a high fever, & when I get really high fever I get very disoriented and almost delusional... So here i am all night trying to cuddle him and console him while i'm feeling horrible myself. It was the longest 6 hrs of my life. Debbi (Landon's grandma) came in @ 4 and took him while I tried to get a few hrs of sleep. Around 8 I decided we both needed to see a Doctor so off we went to the ER. I think i'm usually a pretty patient person, but waiting around for 2 1/2 hrs with a fussy baby when you feel like death is something I honestly wouldn't wish on my worst enemy! There were a few weak moments that had me fantasizing about punching a doctor or yelling at a nurse... again, fever makes me a little crazy! haha (:

Anyways, we both can home w/ amoxicillan and orders to rest and keep our fevers down. I quickly decided that I would only allow myself to be sick one day and that Sunday I would have to feel better or fake it, single mothers don't get the "luxury" of being sick.

That following Thursday (5/26/11) Landon broke out in a really high fever and had these red dots covering his whole body. He had seemed to be getting better the days before this so I freaked out and back to the ER we went. We waited 3 hrs for them to come in, look at him for 2 min. and tell us it was just a side effect of the fever... my first reaction was annoyance that we had just sat there for 3 hrs for THAT, but then I quickly realized how grateful I should be that it was nothing. I felt so bad for my poor baby, this was his first time EVER being sick and he really got hit hard.

Saturday was Rachel's going away party... sadness. But I made some delicious cupcakes (:

After dinner (and cupcakes), Rachel & I decided to go out to our friend Clat's for a water balloon fight. It seemed only fitting... 5 years ago Rachel & I met at a water balloon fight at Clat's, so it just seemed right to send her off that way.

Epic Fail, and so came my 3rd ER visit of the week...

Rachel was running through a dark backyard and fell in a hole, twisting her ankle BAD. It got so huge so fast! I have never even seen anything like that... pretty scary. Off to the ER we went ):

Well, thats the story of all my emergency room adventures! I really think I should have gotten like a frequent visitor wheelchair ride or something...

mothers day, cupcakes, & a 9 mo. check-up

This year was my first mothers day! Technically it was last year, but this year I got to cuddle and love on my little man rather than get a swift kick in the bladder for mothers day. It was just another day but it really made me reflect back on this beautiful little journey of motherhood i'm taking. I am SO blessed.

Right now we are back @ Debbi's for awhile, my best friend Rachel is moving so we are staying here so we can spend more time with her before she leaves ):

I really do have the 2 best friends in the WHOLE world (:

So while we are here, we are getting into all sorts of shenanigans w/ Aunt Rachel! We've made cupcakes, Landon has had his first REAL slice of pizza (loved it), & he ALMOST talked Aunt Rachel into letting him drive us home... almost.

Today was Landon's 9 month check-up, & he is still recovering from his first ear infection so he was kinda cranky. They had to clear some excess wax out of his sore ear (yikes) and draw blood for some standard blood tests. He was NOT a happy camper. They put a little penguin band-aide on this finger and he TOTALLY turned on his paci. He wanted nothing to do with it, the only thing he wanted in his mouth was that finger! Right now he weighs 18lbs 14oz (25th percentile) and he is 28 1/2inches (50th percentile), which is right about where he's been growing at all along! She said his teeth should be popping out any day... uh ya, i thought they were coming out 2 months ago!

I REALLY can't believe I have a 9 month old... wasn't I typing this same thing, sub the 9's for 8's, like uh, yesterday?

Love & Lemons

It's been over a week since our last update, but we've been very busy...

The beginning of last week consisted of me making jewelry night and day since I let this last month slip past me and had almost no inventory for Canton First Monday Trade Days. So I stayed pretty busy, Landon was so good and played very independently so that mommy could get her work done. I know I say it all the time but I am SO blessed to have such an easy going child, He truly is the light of my life. He stayed busy trying to help me, and going to the park with Papaw.

We had an ok weekend in Canton, we didn't sell as much as we wanted and we had a couple scary/crazy experiences that I will not relive here, lol. But i will say that we moved into a better location & we LOVE our new booth!

The best thing about this trip to Canton was we split the weekend in half, so I only had to be away from Landon for 2 days instead of the full 4. That made it so much easier! The saturday after Canton we went back to Salado w/ Rachel & Daniel (last minute trip) and ate @ the mongolian grill again, its kind of like a tradition now, haha. Landon tried a lemon for the first time... LOVED IT! He's such a cutie (:
